La Locanda del Capitano

Excellent local hotel

We stayed here for one night and had a fantastic stay, the hotel is small, cosy and stylish, the staff are very friendly and the restaurant is excellent, highly recommended for couples, foodies and wine drinkers.

Non la solita Pasqua…

Anche quest’anno a Pasqua, come ogni volta che riusciamo a ritagliarci qualche giorno di riposo, io e mio marito siamo corsi a Montone alla Locanda del Capitano dello Chef/Patron Giancarlo Polito per la cena della domenica.
La Locanda del Capitano e Giancarlo in primis Ti coccolano con un ambiente raffinato, ma allo stesso tempo assolutamente informale e quello che ci piace pensare, è che hai la sensazione di essere a casa, anche se la cucina è decisamente migliore !!!
Alla Locanda si fanno e si incontrano amici e si provano straordinarie sensazioni gusto-olfattive con le invenzioni e le reinterpretazioni dello Chef.
Posto mitico…

Another amazing experience

We have been coming here for seven or eight years now and it is always top of our list.
The food was amazing as always, delicately balanced with maximum flavour, I have always found it hard to find somewhere better for flavour.
The owner and chef Giancarlo is incredibly friendly and always happy to help with choices when we attend, I recommend following any of his choices as he is fantastic at recommending anything from food to wine. His knowledge of his whole menu and wine list is staggering and he never fails to please.
Service is always of the highest quality and you could never ask for more than they are willing to give.
Atmosphere is the final piece of this puzzle and Giancarlo has it nailed his music choice matched with the charm of Montone...

Un Anniversario Speciale

Per il nostro 25 anniversario con mio marito Alberto ci siamo regalati una cena e pernottamento alla Locanda del Capitano.
Una serata perfetta e siamo stati doppiamente fortunati perchè quella sera era prevista una Cena degustazione di pesce e Champagne Thienot.
Lo Chef Polito ha un tocco speciale per il pesce. Gamberoni di Mazara e Cozze indimenticabili come il dessert Mó è ito.
Siamo stati soddisfatti anche per il prezzo (qualità e quantità ineccepibili).
Il servizio impeccabile, accoglienza cordiale.
Non aspetteremo un altro anniversario per tornare...

Great hospitality in a perfect setting

A comfortable room with lots of character, and a terrace with a view across the tiled rooftops to the rolling green countryside beyond.
The only sounds were the swifts calling as they flew past, the village clock striking on the square near by and the occasional greeting in the street below.
Very peaceful, and even quieter at night. Breakfast is simple but tasty, the home-baked rolls to die for. Eating in the restaurant was also a real treat: the dishes were creative without going too far from their roots, with an emphasis on flavour that left us thoroughly satisfied.
The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, and chef Giancarlo a charming host keen to share his enthusiasm.

Excellent endroit

Nous sommes restés plusieurs nuits dans cet hôtel et avons dîné plusieurs soirs de suite.
 C'était excellent et d'une grande finesse.
La cuisine du chef Gianfranco est raffinée et utilise des produits extrêmement savoureux.
Le service est de grande qualité. L'accueil est chaleureux.

Einfach vollkommen!

Eigentlich, spricht der Titel meiner Bewertung schon selbst für sich, und man kann nichts anders behaupten – einfach vollkommen! Alles, was man sich in diesem Ort wünscht, bekommt man auch: man schaut den Sonnenuntergang von dem Berg, auf dem Montone liegt, man geht durch die alten Straßen, die von der Geschichte geprägt sind, und man kommt ins „La Locanda del Capitano“. Wir haben zum Abendessen gegessen, mit Vorspeise (kreativ und lecker), Hauptgericht (Fleisch war hervorragend gekocht) und Dessert (Tiramisu war göttlich). Extra möchte ich auch das hausgemachte Olivenöl erwähnen, das traumhaft geschmeckt hat. Personal war sehr nett, freundlich, sowie der Chef, der bereit war, die Ganze Speisekarte auf Englisch zu erklären und Sonderwünsche bei allen Gerichten zu erfüllen. Top-Bewertung für den Top-Restaurant.
